Message from the area director:

Hello AYSO soccer people,
For those of you who attended this weekends Coach certification course at Region 450`s facilities, I think WOW would be a good description. George brought his A team of fellow instructors including Akrim and German Carasco. Also helping the course along were two super athletes from Sweden and Finland respectively. The class started sharply at 1:00ish and with over 23 Coaches at the beginning, and about another 7-8 joining in as the afternoon took off , it was very well attended. Every Region had at least 1 Coach, and we had guests from Doral, West Kendall, and Pinecrest Between excellent classroom discussion and the vigorous and inspiring drills and field work, every attendee had a great day of certification. Burger King supplied all there to a 5$ gift card, and the Area Staff presented all Coaches with a unique AYSO Hat that only Area 14A can have. I.t seemed that nobody wanted to go home at the 6:00 point. In fact a fun game was in Session. I was coaxed into playing goalie for the more spirited team of the two, in other words I got hammered. But I did manage to make a few good saves, even when George himself tried to embarrass me by attempting to score from close range by kicking it between my legs. We all had a great time until almost 7:00pm I was assured all the papers for those who were there will be processed immediately. It was great to have such a well represented group of Soccer Coaches from Miami all together. All of our classes are open to all programs` Coaches whether they are with AYSO or another club. What we offer is to benefit all who attend and I am sure that was the case Saturday, and now the children of all these programs will benefit. Thank you Regional Commissioners and especially Hector Santini RC of AYSO #450 who generously accomodated us and provided cool drinks all day ....gratis. It was just an all around GREAT DAY. We will see you all at the next AYSO Coaches event and you will hear about it through your email just like this. Thank You Will, my son for setting up this email system and Carlos Hevia for so much also.
